A small, family-run campsite
For three generations, the same family has welcomed holidaymakers on these 3 hectares between Souraïde and Espelette. Peace and quiet come first here: avenues of plane trees, marked pitches and open views of the Basque mountains.
Our campers say it best: several of them describe touring the site in the golf buggy with the owner to choose their pitch, and leaving already wanting to come back.

Between two outings, stay on site. The pool and its paddling pool are open from 15 June to 15 September, 9 am to 8 pm.

Les sanitaires du camping sont propres et les emplacements sont ombragés. La piscine et les quelques services proposés dans le camping sont vraiment des plus ! L'équipe du camping est très accueillante.
Un super camping familial et un bel accueil en voiturette avec le sourire ! Des services quotidiens disponibles et de la propreté. Un petit plus car ils se sont rendus disponibles pour une recherche de chaussures perdues après notre départ, malgré l'activité du 15 août. Merci ! Adio.
Super séjour. Des hôtes accueillants, disponibles et souriants. Camping idéalement situé pour visiter la région avec de très bonnes explications de la part des gérants. Une très belle vue sur les montagnes. Mobil-home propre et bien équipé. On recommande pour vos vacances.
Super camping près d'Espelette, central pour visiter le Pays Basque ! Accueil chaleureux de l'équipe aux petits soins et avec de la bonne humeur et de l'humour ! Camping propre, emplacements ombragés, spacieux et délimités ! Avec une piscine pour se rafraîchir ! L'idéal ! Nous recommandons les yeux fermés !
Accueil très chaleureux, le proprio a pris le temps de faire le tour du camping avec nous avec la voiturette pour nous laisser le choix de l'emplacement. Emplacement très bien délimité et ombragé. Camping calme et familial. Les sanitaires, le mini-golf, la piscine sont propres. (…) On recommande vivement ce camping !
Super camping familial, parfaitement situé pour visiter le Pays Basque. Accueil très chaleureux, nous avons choisi notre emplacement, ils sont ombragés et spacieux. La piscine a une pataugeoire pour les plus petits. Les douches sont propres. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous y retournerons c'est sûr.
Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable dans ce camping ! L'emplacement était parfait, calme, propre et vraiment agréable. Mais ce qui fait la différence, ce sont les propriétaires : des personnes formidables, accueillantes, toujours souriantes, avec une gentillesse rare. On s'y sent tout de suite bien dans une ambiance familiale et chaleureuse (soirée du jeudi). (…) Un immense merci pour tout, et à très bientôt !

Your questions about the campsite
When is the campsite open?
Camping Alegera is open from 1 April to 31 October. Bookings are taken all year round, online or by phone on +33 6 13 76 66 87.
Is the campsite really in Espelette?
The site stretches across two villages, Souraïde and Espelette, along the Espelette road (D918). The centre of Espelette is about 5 minutes away by car, Souraïde village 3 minutes.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes, it depends on the period and on how you travel. In high summer (15 July to 25 August), allow 4 nights minimum for a tent, caravan, van or motorhome. In spring and autumn, 2 to 3 nights are enough. Cyclists and walkers can stay just one night all season. Details are on the pitches and prices page.
Are dogs welcome?
Yes, dogs are welcome on a lead, with their vaccination record and third-party liability insurance. They stay free of charge outside July and August (€3.40 per night in July and August). Category 1 and 2 dogs are not accepted in the mobile homes. There is a dog shower on site.
Is the swimming pool supervised?
The pool (8 m × 20 m, 1 m to 2.10 m deep) and the paddling pool (4 m × 3 m) are open from 15 June to 15 September, 9 am to 8 pm. They are not supervised: children remain the responsibility of their parents.
How far are the beaches?
The beaches of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Ciboure are about 25 minutes away by car. Allow half an hour for Guéthary and Biarritz, a little more for Hendaye.
How do I get there from the airport?
Biarritz airport is about 31 minutes away by car (24 km). San Sebastián, in Spain, is around 52 minutes away.
Is bed linen provided in the mobile homes?
No. For hygiene reasons, sheets, blankets, pillows, bolsters and towels are not provided: please bring your own.
